Do you text them or do you just talk to them over facebook, twitter, instagram, or whatever else there is?
One of my friends that is a girl is getting back with her ex and she isn't talking to me very much anymore after texting nearly everyday for a year...
I am stuck on whether it is okay to text her or if it is messed up... regardless I guess she is forgetting about me so it doesn't really matter..

If you truly are just friends there is no harm in texting her. It's possible her boyfriend will not approve. In that case she will either ignore your text or tell you she cannot communicate with you.
I have a few guy friends that I text. My husband has female friends that he texts (including exes). He is upfront and honest about the communication and what is said and so am I. Now if he were trying to hide the fact he was texting these women or what was being said, I would have an issue with it. Otherwise, I trust my husband to have female friends (even if there was a past romantic relationship - the past is the past and exes are exes for a reason).

You're friends. Nothing more. She can have as many code friends outside if the relationship as she pleases. Go ahead, text her and tell her you miss chatting with her.
