Some of my facebook contacts have android phones (Expensive one like Samsung Note 2). when i send them a msg in facebook, they get instantly notification on their phone screen. I just want to know that is it phone features or Android feature? Will I get the FB notification on my phone screen if i buy less expensive phone like Samsung Galaxy Y (Android)... ? Can anybody explain?
I know Notification can be seen when we open facebook in browser or app. But I am asking :
Some of my friends who are using Android on expensive phones, get the notification on their phone screen without opening the App or browser. Can I get it same on less expensive phone on Android phone?

No. It is just Facebook's system on Android. Hence, changing to another phone won't help but you have to log out and not just exit it because you might still have the message. Almost all phones would have this notification thing through Facebook chatting. Hope I could help!

You have to donwload the facebook app in order to get the notifications, and not use facebook on a web browser. And also every android have that feature.

Notification is a feature which is available in all mobiles including Symbian. Getting Facebook notifications is by the notification feature which is provided by the Facebook app. You can get Twitter notifications by installing Twitter app. You can get all notifications in Galaxy Y also as I am a Galaxy Y user.

seems that u r new with andriod phones...there is a notification system in samsung phones which when gets activated will keep on ringing whenever any notification id recd on the phone. for this the facebook app need not kept to be open only the internet is to be activated....this system is found on all samsung andriods phones
