Simply sync your facebook acount to your phone. (log onto facebook on your win phone) and it will import all facebook contacts to your phone. Then go to messaging, open a previous conversation, then click the 2 little arrows on the bottom. That will change it to facebook.

Messaging->Status->Online
if you haven't log in facebook in windows phone then go to Settings->email+accounts->add an account
