how does facebook find you old friends? - xpelfromheaven - 03-14-2014 05:13 PM

okay, it has been three instances now where facebook has suggested to me friends that for certain dont know any of my current facebook friends. i haven't even transferred my email contacts. so how does facebook find them? does it spy on your other email accounts and keep track of the people you email often?

In the search box on the top right corner of the screen on Facebook you can simply type in your friend's name and if they have a profile then it will come up.

Another way is to use your address book in your email. Facebook has an option to go through your address book and grab the emails of the people already on Facebook and it will tell you who has a profile. If someone does not have a profile then there is an option to invite them to become a user on Facebook.

I have the same thing!!!!I really feel like they are invading my privacy in a bad way. There are people who I email for work, and then all of the sudden they show up on suggested friends! No friends in common, this just seems so wrong. I am getting suspicious of the way Facebook is handling itself nowdays. I deleted all my applications, and made it so nonw of them have access to all my info....but still. Sketchy
