Tips for taking pictures of yourself with your cellphone? - Charlotte - 03-15-2014 12:54 AM

I'm trying to make a new profile picture for Facebook, but I'm having a really hard time taking nice pictures! The only camera I have is the one on my cellphone and it doesn't have a camera lens on the same side as the screen so it's hard to know if I have a good angle or if my entire face is in the picture. If anyone has any tips for taking nice pictures (even if it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that my phone doesn't have a camera lens on the same side as the screen like most phones do) then that would be awesome! I need all the help I can get because I suck at this! Thank-you to anyone who answers!

If there's no flash, use it to take a picture of your reflection in the mirror.

Otherwise, don't look up when taking it, the nose holes look awful on photos like that. You can turn your head to one side and it'll look better than most other poses.

That's a really bad idea. Using a cellphone to take a selfie is the worst possible way to take a self-portrait.

Use a cheap point and shoot camera instead - borrow one if necessary. You'll get much better results.

Put your camera on a tripod or a flat level surface like a table or shelf. Get about 2 metres (2 yards) or more from the camera. Use the camera's zoom to frame the shot. Use the camera's self-timer to fire the shot.

Only one tip - get someone else to take you picture, preferably with a camera as opposed to a phone.

since its just for FB, borrow someone's camera. so you dont have to waste so much money on just a FB picture. but its up to you tho.
