I have seen older vids and tutorials showing how to make a friend request on Facebook. Those methods demonstrated the adding of a personal message to the friend request. Now that I am on facebook I do not see that ability to add a message. I can do a friend request, or send a message, but not both in the same action. Is this something new with facebook? or am i missing something?
nope to the first answer. If i click add friend the button immediately changes to "+1 friend request sent"
it does not give me the option to add a message

click add friend then the chance to write a message will be above it

No !! Not Possible.Only friend request send on facebook.
