Hi, I got a my touch 3g white slide and I don't get instagram. I bought it off craigslist and I want to update it to the gingerbread. Anyone how to do this or update it thanks a lot.

Take the time to do these in order:
#1 http://theunlockr.com/2010/08/16/how-to-root-the-htc-mytouch-slide-exploid-method/
After it's rooted then do this:
#2 http://theunlockr.com/2010/08/05/how-to-load-a-custom-rom-on-the-htc-mytouch-slide/
The ROM you're gonna want is Cyanogenmod and you can get it here:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=stable&device=espresso
Download the first stable mod on the list (7.2) and load it and install then after install the Google Apps package: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/wiki/Latest_Version/Google_Apps Download the one for Cyanogenmod 7
Seems like a lot of work but actually it's pretty easy,
