There is a local facebook group that is run by a friend who doesn't make any money but spends a lot of time moderating and deleting old post etc. It's become so successful they are thinking about making it into a separate website to sell advertising space but I was wondering if that's possible to do on facebook? I've tried searching on facebook help but there is no direct answer for selling space, only about buying it. Thanks for any help.
Oh yeah, I know how to do with a separate website, that's why they asked for my help with that. I am just wondering if facebook actually allow it for successful groups with a lot of members and usage? I'm thinking they probably don't but it doesn't seem to specify it anywhere. Thanks though.
I found this site but it seems a bit dodgy and I wouldn't do that unless facebook allowed it:

Since Facebook is hosting the group and paying for the bandwidth, they are not going to allow you to sell ad space on their site. You will have to leave facebook and buy hosting from a provider such as GoDaddy etc. Just be sure that your contract with the hosting site will allow you to sell ads then too.

No Its Not Possible to Sell ads on a Facebook Group selling things on facebook is not allowed
