Ive used 75% of my data already and the cycle doesn't end for another 17 days. What could i do the limit my usage? Will using safari instead of my twitter/Facebook apps help?

use wifi where possible and use data monitoring browsers such as atomic web as they have data limit feature which allows you to set limits to you data usage so you dont go over them

Use wi-fi as much as possible. Not only does it provide faster internet speed, but it also consumes less power. The app or web browser does not matter much since you are browsing the same content. That is unless your applications are really optimized to reduce data consumption (and they usually are). In theory, I think your Facebook/Twitter apps will consume less data, but it will be minimal.
