what does hashtag even mean? - Love-Life - 03-17-2014 12:16 AM

People put #YOLO and things like that. What does it mean??? LOL

It's from Twitter. When people post things on Twitter, they follow it with #some related topic.

I know, it's so stupid.

Its twitter.
You use hashtag before stating something on twitter
ex: At my friends house #Havingthebesttimeever

hastag is '#' it was on Twitter as a tag. Like on Instagram. But ignorant people use it for stupid things like Yoko.

i supose hashtag is just popular (some of the ppl saying yolo dont even know what it means so) hashtag actuely means number thats why alot of things say like "your my #1" or somethin like that

It's for Twitter. Stupid things like YOLO mean 'You Only Live Once' meaning taking risks, chavs mostly use this word, especially SWAG aswell. Hash tags are used for Twitter to link a word that many other people would use to your Tweet.

Hashtags are a big thing in social media nowadays; typically seen on twitter or even instagram. On those social media sites, you can click on the highlighted hashtag and see other tweets or pictures that have been tagged with the same word. For example, if you saw on twitter that somebody put #YOLO, you could be able to click on it and see the millions of other tweets that have the same hashtag. Usually when somebody uses a hashtag and it's not on twitter, they're making fun of hashtags. That's what I do.
