I finally got talked into starting a Facebook page for my business and was wonderring about some promotions to do. I am fairly new to Facebook and so far have only used it to show some new products, basically a picture and a discription. Any ideas, help or comments are welcome.
1. How can I go about getting more people to "like" my page?
2. What are some good promotions you have seen ran by other business's or your own.
3. Any other ideas?
A little background:
My business is a smaller sporting goods store specializing in Firearms and hunting supplies. My current market is local in an area of less than 25,000 people. My sales are right around $500,000/year and climbing about 10% over the last 4 years so I am expanding and keep looking for ways to expand further.
I greatly appreciate any help.
@kemperk- There are lots of business's on sites such as facebook that offer promotions, etc.
I have clearly defined laws regarding who I may sell to so I'm not worried about that, If someone wants to try to buy from me that is prohibited it would not be allowed.
As far as definition I mainly cater to the hunting crowd but also have alot of self defense type items as well.

you could be begging for trouble; SN reaches both your intended customers and lots of people
who want to buy from you but who should not.
IS your shop intended to sell mainly pistols for home protection? Hunter's supplies?
define your ideal client. MOST shops like yours do not do so. THey just open up and sell.
SN is not designed to help anyone sell.........it is a SOCIAL site, not a sport's site.

You might need to tell your friends on facebook to like your page...I think that's the only way that people will like your page, or make your page looks so interesting... I have tried to promote my client's website through having our own business website, promote it through facebook, twitter..etc...We're trying to get more traffic so that we are able to rank it on google!

Hi best way to promote your services would be social media like facebook. You can make a facbook business page and promote it. If you have a website also for your business, my suggestion would be get some good SEO and get targeted visitors to your site.
