Social media helps to find new customers and to keep in touch with the existing ones which is good for any business. It's particularly important for ecommerce because online businesses often don't have any phisical location and they don't meet their customers in person. Social media networks provide great opportunities for them to interact with the customers, research their needs and preferences and so on. In other words, social networks replace physical contact with customers for e-businesses. People often don't trust to things if they can't touch them. Social networks let ecommerce companies to be closer to their customers to get their trust.
