I know it was probably just chain mail but someone inboxed me about Facebook shutting down soon because it is too overpopulated. I'm almost certain it's chain mail but i'm curious.

It's Chain mail/ Spam. Use your brain cells and think for one second. If the largest social networking site was set for a shut down it would be big news. Secondly, the Facebook team would inform you if such an event were to occur, just like people are informed about maintenance on websites, by the admins and not the users. Ridiculous question
