why cant i get Instagram on my Samsung Intercept ? - Krysteeanuh - 03-17-2014 06:27 PM

Instagram just came out for Android & it says its not compatible with my phone , what does that mean ?

If you have not upgraded to Android 2.2 "Froyo" you need Android 2.2 to run Instagram. There is a link to the app below.

I have an intercept running 2.2.2, and its saying its unavailable on my phone, what the hell??

Depends on your Android Version.
Go to Setting>About Phone>Android Version
It should say "2.2.2" (a.K.a Froyo)

Or it could probably be the OpenGl ES 2.0 requirement

The Instagram website says their app works on ANY Android running 2.2, and yet attempting to install on the Samsung Intercept with 2.2 says "not compatible". I'd write to Instagram and ask them what is causing the discrepancy.

Hi, I think I have the same problem as yours. I did not download the instagram in play.google, I just downloaded the raw apk to my phone. I successfully install it, but when I try to implement filters/effects It crash and force close the app. I found out that devices that do not support OpenGL ES 2 will not be able to run Instagram properly.
