I don't get it, it just seems harder than talking to someone like normal. Is facebook for showing off so you can build an ego. I just don't understand why people take it so seriously. I heard on the news some people are so addicted that they can't go 30 minutes without checking in on a social media site, something about facebook statuses. I'm 29, so I'm clearly I'm the minority that doesn't do the social media thing. i wonder if I should just get with it and stop trying to avoid it, apparently the future is social media and if I don't keep up I'll be left in the dust.

I think when people talk through social media, they can talk anything without hesitation. they don't have to face them. i think that's the reason ppl love social media. But i don't think you would be left out if u don't use it. I thnk u will gain somthng by not using it.

I don't use facebook but I do like Y!A, texting, email, and Twitter newsfeeds, chat, blog etc.. I like that I can converse from the privacy of my own home or car, or from anywhere else. I can have instant communicaiton but I don't have to dress up or travel if I don't want to.
I think it's the 16-26 year olds, mainly teens and singles, that are so heavily into social media with status and updates like facebook and yes, people are becoming addicted, even some adults. There are worse addictions, I suppose.
Researchers are now saying there are more benefits than risks.
