my email is getting filled with useless facebook messages how do i turn it off so i dont receive them anymore

Log into your Facebook account
In the upper right-hand corner, click on Account, then Account Settings, then Notifications.
You'll see a list of different things you can be notified about. Just un-tick the check boxes of anything you don't want to be notified about.
