Social Media- Beneficial or Consuming? - Molzxx - 03-18-2014 04:50 PM

At my debating society, this is the topic currently on the table. I was wondering if anybody else had any thoughts or discussions they wanted to share as I think that social media, while being helpful in some ways, can also be a massive waste of time. Anyone else think similarly?

PS- I dont have any social things- Im 15 and a girl.

The problem is, forming a friendship/relationship online and having relationships in real life is very very different.
People don't understand that.

Social media friends are ok as long as you realise its just a game. you can never really get to know someone that way.
What we write on line about ourselves will always be to make ourselves look as good as possible, but in real friendships/relationships there are clues, body language, doing chores together etc cannot be recreated on line, and its often when doing things together with people that we learn more about them and ourselves.

Consuming.

It turns people into mindless morons who plague the internet with hash tags and frankly shit we do not care about.
