What to do when someone posts an embarrassing photo of you on Facebook? - Kristen - 03-19-2014 12:55 AM

So this idiot posted a really embarrassing photo of me onfacebook and I don't even know him that well and I asked him to delete it but he won't?!! So I waited until the post got right to the bottom of newsfeed and then one of my friends decides to comment on it and it's gone right back to the top again!! I just want to die of embarrassment is there anyway to delete that photo myself? I'm just worried about tomorrow in school when everyone's going to laugh at me and I'm really dreading it what shall I do?? Plz help

You can report the photo as harrasment

Try deleting the idiot from your friends list. You should not be able to see any of his postings at all on your timeline after that.

Easiest way is to report the picture, and when it asks why, click the option that says something like 'I do not like this picture of me'. Also the guy might get a 1-day ban, so yeah enjoy Wink

If it really bothers you I believe you can report that person for posting pictures of you without your consent. Don't know how fast the turn around time will be for facebook customer service. Either that or you could always just not care what other people think of you, but seeing as you seem like a teenager I doubt that will happen.

Yes. I have my Facebook turned off, so it's difficult for me to give you specifics, but I've had to do so in the past as well.

I believe you go to the image and go to the Options (gear) button on the bottom and you have a number of options. It may also be the hidden 'x' on the top-right of the image post you have to mouse-over to see.

You'll have a number of options. You can un-tag yourself (a great unilateral first start), and then you can report the image as offensive or inappropriate.

I believe posting images of you that you don't like falls under their harassment policy.

All else fails, you can contact Facebook Support, but their site is giving me HTML 500 errors when I browse, so apparently it's down at the moment.

You call this guy and idiot for posting the photo, yet who is the idiot that put herself in a position to allow this so-called embarrassing photo to be taken?

Stop taking yourself so seriously. If people laugh, laugh with them. Tell them that you know it's a dumb photo, but, what the heck...you were just having some fun. If they see it bothers you, they will only taunt you more.

Facebook isn't going to delete a photo just because you don't like it. The photo has to be inappropriate in some way. There is also no way of deleting this yourself. As for untagging yourself; the photo will still exist.

As for your friend making a comment on the photo, instead of getting upset about it, comment back with something witty. Like I said, the more you show them it upsets you, the more they will screw with you.
