What would happen if I make a fake Facebook account? - 330 - 03-19-2014 01:02 AM

Okay, so I know many of you are thinking this is dumb. I'm just really bored.

If I made a fake Facebook account with a random name and pretended to go to the school I actually go to, and added the people that go to my school could I get in trouble?

I wouldn't threaten anyone or anything, but maybe just kind of talk to them and play around and see their reactions.

Could I get in trouble for this?
I never said I would say anything bad at all about anyone on there. I'd just be like, "hey did you see me at school?" and "I got a new bf! omg!"

I would not be mean to anyone. That's not my style.

usually if you don't do a good job of keeping up the fake account facebook will figure it out and delete your account but that is about it.

you shouldn't do unless you sent threats or malicious messages, people may get freaked and think your a bit weird tho so i wouldn't recommend it...

Thats extremely deceptive and horrible. I advise you not to do it. It seems to me like if you go through with it your friends will hate you.

I think you might because someone in my school made one preteneding to be someone who doesnt have facebook and he found out and the principle found out and he got suspened for a day. But if you use a random made up name I dont think you would

No I don't think so. As long as you're not doing anything bad. People use fake identities all the time online.

If they catch you or suspect you are not using your real name, they will suspend the account.

The reason I never got a Facebook account is because I have no intention of giving away that kind of personal info to Google or anyone else on the web solely for entertainment.

No sane person gives out that kind of info to strangers these days.

But, yeah, using a fake name sounds like the way to go. If they catch you so what?

If someone has created an account to impersonate or imitate you, please go to the impostor profile and click "Report this Person" in the left column. Check the "Report this Person" box, choose "Fake Account" as the reason, and add "Impersonating me or someone else" as the report type.

Unless it's someone with a real name then you can't get in legal trouble, but you can get kicked off facebook at least on the fake account

Yes, you would get in trouble. The Facebook Police will come and arrest you. You will spend 24 hours in jail, and then you'll be banned from Facebook forever.
