No....because you can turn off the media. If you continue to watch things deemed corrupt, your values were not so strong in the first place....so don;t blamed the media when you make mistakes. Take responsibilty for your own actions. Stop blaming others....that is real a social value.

Media can only report about us but with a magnifying glass. So, the bottomline is that our social values have been corrupted.

Definitely yes, Human being have some weaknesses which can be exploited very easily by capitalists by using media. You can easily turn off you TV, but its extremely difficult to control children and keep an eyen on them. And all media is basically money earning units. They don't care what would be long term effect of their programs on the current and next generation. Their objective is make most money, to show something people would like to see, ireespective of its effect on ondividuals and society. Why do you thing we have more gays now that earlier? why more incidents of incest is taking place? why more paedophile.
In socialism, society is everything, any individual interest should sacrified for society and nation. Contrary to that western culture promote freedom and liberty, which almost infinite and there is no limit to that. Even if it destroy the society.
We need a balance between these two.
Ironically, in some western countries woman can't hide her face (the ban on niqab/hijab) but they have no issue if a woman walk naked in the street just in the name of freedom.
