how to make a facebook photo private? - polly_pocket - 03-19-2014 04:30 AM

hi there,

i know facebook have changed their privacy rules quite a bit. one of my friends tagged me in their photo so that appears on my wall now i believe.

one of my other friends commented on this photo. i know this friend who commented is friends with someone i don't want anything to do with. can the person i don't want anything to do with see this photo because our friend in common commented on it?? i'm assuming that on my friends wall it will say so and so commented on pollypocket't photo and i'm assuming there will be a link to the photo.

phew! does that make sense?! all i want is to make sure this person can't see my photo.

thanks x

Facebook allows you to change the privacy settings of most photographs uploaded to the site.

One of the concerns many Facebook users have when accumulating more friends on the popular social networking site is how they can keep their personal photographs private. By default, Facebook sets liberal privacy standards for new users, making it possible for people outside of a user's direct friends to view their photographs. Facebook's built-in privacy controls make it possible to carefully limit your personal photographs to be viewable only by your friends or yourself alone. The changes are easy to make through Facebook's privacy panel.

Difficulty:EasyInstructions

1
Log in to Facebook and select the "Account" link in the upper right corner of your Facebook home screen.

2
Choose "Privacy Settings" in the drop down menu that appears.

3
Select the "Custom" option in the sidebar of the menu that loads.

4
Click the "Customize Settings" link.

5
Change the privacy setting to "Friends Only" under "Posts By Me," This will limit photos you share only to friends in your Facebook network.

6
Change the privacy setting of "Photos and Videos I'm Tagged In" to "Friends Only" in the section "Things Others Share."
