Not having a Facebook account nowadays !? - saikkoz - 03-19-2014 10:46 AM

Is everybody obliged to have a facebook account, specially for teens and young adults? Can you just have a life without a 'virtual you' ? Will it be a must for future generations to have virtual profiles to exist in the real world ?
I'm just curious about how this new way of 'socializing' affects and will influence human relationships in the future.

No one has to have a Facebook account, and you can certainly go on just fine without setting one up, but these days, you may as well. It's become the norm, especially for youth. It allows for easy online connection with people you know, even simultaneously, in a clean interface, and with an estimated 1 in 14 people in the WORLD using it on a regular basis, it provides an added benefit of access to friends or relatives you long ago lost touch with. I've heard many people praise the site for this reason alone, as it has helped them rebuild past relationships. It's not godly, mind you (it has its flaws), but it's useful and, to be honest, I cannot really fathom why anyone would be strongly against it.
