What is a good job for an antisocial person? - Jessica - 03-19-2014 10:12 PM

I'm very antisocial and introverted and while I'm entirely aware I might have to fight through my social anxieties I was wondering if there were any jobs pay well and I could do comfortably?
Also, would being a secretary be a good job? Thank you, everyone.

As a secretary, you will be answering phones and talking to everyone who comes into an office. It may not be the most comfortable fit for you, but it probably would help you gain confidence if you stuck with it.

Personally, I'm extremely introverted, and I've worked several retail jobs. Even though retail involves a lot of interaction with people, most of the interactions are very straight-forward and don't involve small talk. Small talk is what is really hard for me.

It's hard to find jobs that don't require much interaction. It's an extroverts job market. Your best bet would be computer sciences or research or something you can do over the Internet like tutor.com.
