what's the approperiate age to let your child have there own facebook account? - Linda Lu - 03-21-2014 12:45 AM

My 9 year old son asked me if he could have his own facebook account. He said some of his are on facebook. I think he's too young . What do you guys think?

Facebook is a place that can leave a child very vunerable to online bullying and other horrible things.
Im 19, and i agree with you, he is too young.

I definitely think he's too young. Did he give you any other reason as to why he wants to have the account? I it's just for the games, you could likely go to zynga.com and maybe play them without needing a Facebook account...

19 seriously

theoretically never but practically he is too young. even Facebook recommends at least 13 years old. so you could let him be 13 yours old and see how it goes

Well Facebook has an age policy, you have to be 13 so sign up. If he's mature enough at 13 which is basically 7th grade then see how it goes.
