I'm going to get either a tablet, laptop or computer for my birthday because me and my parents are always on it and are always limited on the time we can spend on our laptop. My price limit will probably somewhere in between $150 to $200. If it is a laptop or tablet I need one that has a good battery life. It should also have fast loading times and be able to have apps like Skype. It would also be nice to be able to play games.

best place to get deals on anything is either ebay or craigslist. laptops i would say i love HP as thats all i ever owned. had a few dells didnt really like em. HP last longer. Battery life all depends on what you do. obviously constantly using it will make battery drain fast.

At that price.. get a tablet. A laptop that cheap will be no good.

I recommend increasing the budget just a little bit more I.e from 200 to 225, so you can get better device that would last longer and would have premium features. The Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HDX are best examples of it, they would come with a 1080p screen resolution (best one available in 7" tablets) and you get a quad core processor to run any app without even a bit of lag.

A laptop isn't recommended as its bulky and you merely need a device for few purposes like Skype, games and few other stuff like watching movies, YouTube, Facebook etc. The best part of a tablet is that you get a way longer battery life compared to the Laptop.
