From your home page on face book, on the right, under applications click GROUPS. From the groups page on the top right it says CREATE GROUP - click that. From there you are free to create your own group.

go to groups on home page- then create group

See when you click on groups tab you all groups are displaying and on upper right side there is a tab, Create your own group. Click on it and make your own group.
