How does Facebook earn money? - The Vindicator - 03-21-2014 07:19 PM

Can somebody explain to me how advertisements work on websites? Is it per click? Where can I learn more about this?

Look up Google Ad Sense, then Double Click. 1 million tenth of a pennies a day equals up to some pretty hard currency after a year.

The only way I can think of is games like Farmville, Yoville, etc., but that can't be the only reason they're so wealthy and successful.

It is not per click. In order to have an advertisement on Facebook, the company advertising needs to pay Facebook. As well as this, they are also sponsored by many organizations which also pay money to Facebook.

Advertisements work on the basis of "impressions"
An impression is how many times a text appeared on people's pages
As far as I know , for every 1000 impressions you get 10 cents
Although you have to pay up to facebook first to place an advertisement (This money contributes to the revenue)
