What is better to promote a home business on Facebook? A Page or Group? - Ms_BusinessWoman - 10-15-2012 07:54 PM

I have created a group to help promote my home business that caters to families of diverse backgrounds. I have created a group to advertise my business and post links from the home page for easier access and so forth. I continuously sit on the fence with whether I should have created a Facebook Page instead. If you could kindly let me know what would be more effective for me a facebook group or page.

Thank you

It depends... my face book is of myself incorporating my business, that way my friends know what I am doing, it draws more people in because of who I know. Now I have joined groups that pertain to my business, even thought of creating my own to pull more people in, but I think that just like a blog it shows your business and your personable side as well. I add things about myself on my wall then at times I add stuff about Wild-tree.

What I also did is join twitter. I have an empowerment, networking group. I have a Twitter with that group and a twitter with Wild-tree. What is great is every time I tweet you can add it to your face book page. Another great resource is http://www.twittermoms.com.

I would love to be your friend face book check me out Rhonda Fe.

I hope this helps.

I think first you should make a group. When your group becomes popular then you go for fan page.

HI,
If you plaster your profile with your business info, people won't want to check you out as they feel you are trying to sell to them all the time. You will build a list of people but they won't be your target audience. They will just be interested in building their own list.

Make your profile about you and make it interesting and create a group to spread your message on your business. You have to draw people to you and you won't be able to do that if you are trying to sell to them.

You could also try the paid advertisements where you can get in front of your target audience by choosing specific keywords where the ads will appear. You can pay as little as $0.10 per click but make sure you set a daily budget.

Hope this helps
