Social Background Check? - Vin Redding - 03-22-2014 01:11 AM I've never had any legal problems or done anything that can come to bite me in the a$$ somewhere down the line, so for that I feel really comfortable. However, with the rise of Social Background Checks (Employers searching FB and other social media sites for information) I realize that there might be something that might make me slip. What happens if I don't have a Social Media to speak of? Would this be looked down on? Or what? I'm not a huge fan of Facebook or any of that crap. So... how would an employer do a background check on a guy like me? And would the lack of such background hurt me in any way? - 339 - 03-22-2014 01:18 AM a potential employer would conduct your background check in the usual fashion: criminal history and credit history. not having a facebook is meaningless when it comes to a background check. - Riley Olsen - 03-22-2014 01:24 AM He's talking about Social Media Background checks. Many employers now check these. It's the typical: "I wont hire you because your facebook profile depicts an alcoholic." ~ In his case, he's asking if the lack of a social media background could also harm him. |
