Capital losses in stock market affect on soc. secuity? - stockpro - 03-22-2014 08:13 AM

I am a person who has capital losses in the stock market and is going on Soc. Security . If after I am on social secuity and have any gains in the market and they are offset by my losses is there any effect to income for Social Secuity. In other words, do these investments affect what I am allowed to make under Social Security. I think not because my gains go against my losses and it is all investment monies.

Thank You

No. The amount of your Social Security is not linked in any way to your investment portfolio.
