What's the best FREE video editing software? I need to shave a few minutes off the beginning and ending of a .FLV file that I wish to upload onto my Facebook and YouTube to meet the time requirements. Hopefully it's a software as basic as Windows Movie Make (too bad WMM doesn't support any other file types).

If you are looking for an easy free video editor, then Avidemux is your best choice. It has a simple interface and specifically perform the task what you are trying to achieve (you just have to apply the markers and it will cut the video). Other than that, there are several free video editors like Lightworks, VirtualDub, Kdenlive etc.
