This does not just have to be about facebook, twitter or sites we often think of when we hear the word 'Social media'. It can also be about a book that changed a time period. Or a newsarticle..so on. I need to be able to have a lot of info on whichever I choose but am just coming up with nothing super interesting. It has to be presented as a question first. But here are my few ideas thus far. 'Is social media making you anti-social?' and I also thought about writing about the action social media sites should take in order to better protect the youth. It does not have to be about anything recent either. Thank you for taking your time out to read and answer!

I think your idea may be an interesting thing to observe. I think what you should specify is that social media, as in online media, is restricting active socialization outside of the home, such as picnics/get-togethers/events, etc.
A book that may be considered social media is not one I can name, since most "classics" are out of my reach for now. TT-TT
Can you write about an event that changed a time period? What about television, or perhaps propaganda during the World War eras? I myself am interested in how large organization such as governments can trick people into thinking their way, such as the North Koreans or Germans during WWII.
