Friend Request on Facebook when I am "hidden"? - ☮ Advice Guru ☮ - 03-23-2014 08:24 AM I was hoping someone could add some insight to this... I have a job where I prefer to keep my Facebook as hidden as possible. I am unsearchable, only my friends can view information about me, etc. I am very familiar with the privacy options, so I'm pretty sure my issue here isn't because something is set incorrectly. Today, I received a friend request from someone I do not know. Her profile is set like mine, so I could not see her friends. Since my profile is so private, I can't figure out how she was able to find me, let alone request me. The only things I can think of is this: 1. I was thinking she might be a mutual friend that I don't know, but I looked on my friends' profiles and she isn't there, so maybe she is hidden as well so I can't find a connection to her. (Mutual friend does not come up under her name in the friend request, but maybe it is someone blocked.) 2.Maybe it is a spam request, but is it possible to do that to someone who is unsearchable? Has that ever happened to you? I was hoping someone could tell me what may have happened because I do not want anyone at my job to be able to see that I even have a Facebook, so maybe you have some ideas as to how this person found me. (This has never happened before, so I'm not sure what to think...) Thank you! I reset the privacy settings. Do you think it is possible somebody sent a spam invite through a group or something? - meggallgurl360 - 03-23-2014 08:30 AM Your privacy settings were probably reset. You should go back to your privacy settings and redo them. This actually has happened to me before. I think it is because they updated facebook. Just redo your privacy settings. |
