I don't understand how to add a photo to my account. Every time I try to upload a photo, it keeps telling me to connect my facebook account or twitter account. I connect my facebook account, and it still doesn't let me add a photo. This is frustrating and I need help. Does anyone know how to upload from your computer?

Yahoo no longer supports the creation of their (own) cartoon avatars.
But you can use a photo avatar or a cartoon avatar from another site, and if you have a Facebook or Twitter account, you can also use those avatars.
Go to: http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/privacy/ - make sure your profile isn't hidden, because if it is, your avatar won't show.
In case you want to use a Facebook or Twitter avatar, you need to link those accounts in the Profile options.

You have several options in case you want a photo avatar:
a) go to your Yahoo! Answers settings at http://answers.yahoo.com/my-activity > click edit my preferences near your current pic > click "Update photo or avatar",
b) go to your Yahoo! Profile at http://profile.yahoo.com/ , click on the current avatar.
Now upload a picture or choose one of the pics you've uploaded previously - the format can be bmp, jpg, png, or .gif.
Note: if you are on a mobile, you need to switch to desktop mode first in order for this to work.

Follow these directions.
Click your current avatar then click view profile or go to
http://profile.yahoo.com/ ,
click your current avatar , click change picture in the centre, click the upward arrow on left, "edit my public profile" browse and select the avatar or pic you want from your pc, follow the prompts.
