I couldn't live without a computer anymore. I always watch 1 or 2 episodes from a series in the evening, but when I get swamped with commercials, I get the same feeling that I'm wasting time. So for that, thank god there's netflix! If you have a phone or tablet that's full of apps for facebook, twitter and so on, simply remove the apps. It is a bit of a habbit to get behind a computer, or call it an addiction, and it takes some conscious effort to make a change. I suggest you just make sure that you don't have "empty time" in which you are drawn to your technology. Pick up a hobby, go do a sport, build a model plane, spend some time with the kids, cook something, call someone instead of updating your status message, write in a diary, paint, read a book, do some gardening and grow your own veggies, go take the dog for a walk, play a board game with some friends... there's so much to do that it can't be that hard to shift your focus away from your computer / mobile. I could go on and on, and if you think about it, all these things are either more productive, healthier, more social than staring at a screen. The biggest problem is, if you're hooked, you really have to make a conscious effort.
