the easiest way to tell is if you clicked something then they arent.

Close friends are people you know, actually know. They arent pictures on a computer.
Friends are people who you can trust, depend on. the people you "Like" on fb may not even be the people in those pictures.

you can look at your own close friends list to see who you added, but there is no way to see a list of people who have added YOU as a close friend

By definition anybody in your Facebook list is a friend. Then you can consider ones with most comments and likes of your postings and these who said nice word on important for you days as close friends.
