i have social problems i don't know where it came from? - thatdude - 03-24-2014 02:08 AM

my sisters and brother are normal and in relationships and socialize but me no i stay alone most of the time. I use to be normal but something went wrong down the line i really don;t know so i'm use to being alnoe or hanging out with one friend.. I only had 1 girlfriend in my life and i was stressed the whole time with her and eventually i broke it off. I feel stressed around people like i can't be myself. It is hard to sleep or eat around a lot of people and i only feel truly comfortable when i'm by myself.. any advice or who can relate?

First of all, there's nothing wrong with feeling more comfortable when you're alone. You're probably more a introverted person, meaning you feel energized when you're by yourself, and drained when you're around other people. This is completely normal. I'm an introverted person and only prefer to be with a group of 3 people at once, or else I get overwhelmed and stressed. I also don't eat around other people, and my friends think I have some kind of disorder and feel the need to comment about it. As far as relationships go, that's nothing to worry about either. I go on dates but whenever someone wants commitment, I run far and fast.

Everyone's different. Being social and outgoing is just what society and the media portrays as "normal," but there's nothing abnormal about being an introvert.
