E-Marketing major a good idea? - GoBuckeyes! - 03-24-2014 09:34 AM

Would it do me any wrong to major in E-Marketing? The name of the major is actually "E-Commerce Marketing", but its basically just E-Marketing.

Anyways, I was wondering if this field will be a thing of the future? I'm guessing yes considering marketing will always be around, and I don't see the internet going anywhere anytime soon.

I'm asking though because maybe someone on here knows something I don't.

Thanks.

Well, yes. but, get good in another field too, because, llok at this "new internet bubble" with MySpace, YouTube, FaceBook, and MyYearBook.Com, while these companies aren't spending on marketing like crazy like in the Bull, you should always be carful of another internet colapse, im in the dotcom business, i understand, i provide email and other e-stuff
email me at nickb@estamponline.net if you have any comments or questions

You could major in E-marketing if you want but I would suggest something else. Even though E-marketing is a thing of the future as you have said. The people who are big in this industry have just tried, they really don't have a degree but if you really want to go for it do it. It is an industry in which without a whole load of work you can make big bucks provided you know how to.

if you have interest in the marketing which also invoves businesses globally then this is for you.
you should also have good flair of internet and how its various domain works. read articles on various models on e-marketing like customer to customer, business to business and so on.
cheers.

I would recommend a degree in finance with a concentration in Marketing/Minor in Marketing and take e-commerce classes. Be sure that you have a major that you can fall back on...
