When on the home screen on Facebook, is that chat on the left side of the page with picture of your friends people who have recently looked at your page?
I have also heard the chat on the bottom of the screen contains people I have recently looked at.

No, neither of those assumptions is true. You only know if someone has looked at your facebook page if they "liked" something, commented on something, or left you a message.

no, nothing tells you or even hints to you who has been viewing your profile
