Facebook privacy question? - The Kellster - 03-24-2014 10:21 AM

I'm having trouble figuring this out. I want to change my relationship status (from nothing to single), but I want to keep my relationship status hidden from some of my facebook contacts (my coworkers) because it's none of their business!

When I click on "privacy" in the top right corner, and then click "profile" (where I'm supposed to be able to control who sees my information), there isn't a spot for hiding my relationship information. I'm confused, because the Profile Privacy groups don't match up with the way information is grouped when I go to edit my profile.

Help? How do I hide my relationship information from certain people?

Your "Relationship Status" falls under Basic Info. If you want to hide your relationship status, you would need to alter your privacy settings for Basic Info.

Go back to your privacy settings (where you were before), and in the drop-down menu next to "Basic Info," choose Customize. Then you can type in the names (or friend list) of the people you don't want to see your status. Just keep in mind that they also won't be able to view your Gender, Birthday, Hometown, Political and Religious Views.
