I Pad vs Android Tablet? Which is better? - b - 03-24-2014 10:27 AM

So I currently own an iPhone5 & I can't lie, I love it!! However I do want to buy a ipad but there prices are a little higher then I'd like to spend unless I feel its totally worth it. My question is which is better & why? This would just be for everyday use...Facebook, youtube, yahoo, Instagram, pictures of my kids playing sports etc.

Definetly worth it I have three iPads in my household two iPad 2's and and the 'new' iPad and they've been excellent so far. Since you already have an iPhone 5 as do I you are familiar with the format of Apple so i'd probably go the iPad even if it is a bit expensive

Tough choice! My son has a Samsung Galaxy tablet, my father has an iPad and really there's very little between the two. I'm an apple device fan and would naturally go for the iPad, but for the money there are loads of inexpensive android tablets out there like the Kindle Fire, Hudl and loads that are less than £150 and very good. So good that dear old Dad is getting an Asus tablet to replace the Ipad because he feels he can't take the iPad to the pub, it's too expensive to leave the house.
So they both do EXACTLY the same thing, admittedly my lad's Galaxy is a high end device as well but all the android devices run on the same system and do the same thing so it may just boil down to case design and quality of camera. Also, the galaxy has an SD card slot, the ipad has none.
Much as I love apple's products, I'd personally go for a Hudl or Kindle Fire, or the Galaxy 7", all of which are available for less than £150 if you shop around.

I would not say iPad is worth it; the price is associated with the brand name, like a tech version of Gucci or LV.

I am more than happy with Android, sometimes just more functionality out of them. Your requirement is very light, even Chinese No-brands would do nicely at about 1/5 the price.

I would say to look at the Google Nexus devices or samsung devices. Amazon kindle devices are good but you have a more limited app store as you can only buy from amazons app store, not the Google play store. So I would say before looking at buying a kindle go to a store and play with it open the app store on the device and see if the apps you want are available. Also can check out this post I found listing some android tablets.
