I am thinking of getting the iphone. But I'm only wanting to get the minimum data plan so I was curious as to how the apps work. Say I was using the facebook app, would that count against my data plan or would it just be me using the app?

Any app that uses the internet (such as the facebook app) will count towards your data plan. A game on the other hand wouldn't unless it was uploading scores or downloading levels or other content.
