On the top right of the Facebook page, click the drop down account button. Click account settings.
Down the bottom, there is 'deactivate account'
Done.

You have to deactivate it. Just go to "profile" then "account settings"and "deactivate account"

Just go to account in the right corner of the home page, click on account settings, and "deactivate" is the last choice.

you can delete account last forever or just deactivate it & reactivate it again

If you want to temporarily close your account then you deactivate it. Account>account settings>deactivate
If you want to permanently delete your account, follow this link and it will be deleted after 14 days if you don't sign back in
