My mom says it may be the dyes in the wooden chew toys....im not sure. Now im freaking out that my guinea pig is peeing blood.
I'm not sure it's eating because I have to guinea pigs...he acts find and run around...but he keeps peeing red! Should I take him to a vet? If so what can they do...my mom is convinced a vet would do nothing

Is it red like blood or more of an orange color? If its more of an orange color that would be from what he has been eating most likely. If it is blood, then yes that is very serious. Take him to a vet. Here is a wonderful website with information, its added below. Do you have a face book? I posted a link to a group on facebook who will gladly help you! You can post a question on their wall, and actual vets my respond. The southern Wisconsin Cavies is a shelter for guinea pigs, and they should be able to give you lots of information. If you are very concerned, I do recommend going to vet that specializes in small animals. It might not be as serious as it seems! It may just be in infection, and some medicine could clear it right up. Good luck, I wish you the best
