Help with Facebook friend requests? - broken_wings6666 - 03-24-2014 10:39 AM

I'm new to facebook.
Friend requests....do you only ever receive them because someone has clicked on your name and clicked add? is it a form of advertising instead?
only asking cos i'm being added by loads of people i use to know all of a sudden....

thanks. x
but when you get the email that says ' -someone- wants to be friends with you on facebook '
Does that mean they've issued a friend request or an advertisment thing or what?

Ummm... You can add someone by the "People You May Know" app. On the right hand side of your Facebook page, it shows two people you may know. If they ring a bell, most people click ADD from their homepage.

It's a friend request and then its up to you to accept or not. After you've been on a little while people recognize you from school or your old home town, etc. Then based on the ones you accept, Facebook pulls up names of others in the same category such as "same school", "similar age", "common interests" and suggests them as "People you may know".
