I would think both of them are a big distraction. But i use Instagram more cuz fb is getting boring. Theres nothing new on fb or anything to do other than chat and scroll down the newsfeed when bored. Instagram has new pictures every second and you always see something different

Facebook is more all-around. Instagram is just photos and shit on your phone. Keep in mind that Instagram is owned by Facebook.
