Facebook layouts? Anyone know anything about if they're real? - Stephanie - 03-24-2014 10:42 AM

I've seen some sites for Fb layouts but I haven't seen anyone with one.. Do they work, if so how do I do it?

Not everyone uses them, I do and it only shows up on your account only.
I use a custom GTA Layout and no one (aside from me) can actually see it so it is kind of pointless.

's tougher to pimp your Facebook profile than it is with Myspace, but with a small Facebook application called PageRage, you can find cool Facebook layouts and make your Facebook profile stand out from the crowd. Here's how to do it...

Difficulty:Moderately EasyInstructions
Things You'll Need
A facebook profile.
Firefox 3.0 or IE 7/8 browser.

1
Go to PageRage at http://www.pagerage.com and install Yontoo Layers. This is a browser plug-in for Firefox 3 or Internet Explorer 7 or 8. Yontoo Layers must be installed to your browser in order for the layouts to work.

Note: You have to click the button that says "get plug-in" on the redirected page. It's roughly 24kb and installs instantly.

2
Follow the installation instructions. You may need to click "allow" in order for the application to install, and you may need to restart your browser after the installation.

3
You're ready to start with facebook layouts! Easy, right? In a separate tab, go log in to your Facebook account.

4
Now, go back to the PageRage tab (with your facebook still open) and browse through the different themes available (there are 600 at the time of this writing). You can find them on the left of the screen, under "layouts." Choose the one you like. Cute, dark, emo, love, nature, whatever thrills you.

5
Click "select" under the layout of your choice. You will get the following message: "Allowing PageRage Super Profile access will let it pull your profile information, photos, your friends' info, and other content that it requires to work." Click "allow."

6
It will process the request in a couple of seconds, and bam - the facebook layout is applied. Refresh you page and check it out.

The only one I've tried is PageRage and I found it to work very well. The app is ad-supported, free, and they have many layouts to choose from. Only those who have the app will be able to see your layouts; currently, FB does not allows users access to their individual html codes. FB is very different from Myspace but this app is really cool if you're looking to add some color to your profile. If you want to see what their layouts look like prior to installing check out this post about them: http://www.pagerage.com/blog/why-you-will-need-pagerage-with-facebooks-timeline-update/
