Are singers entrepreneurs? - hugepartner501 - 03-24-2014 10:44 AM

I know they don't necessarily start their own business but an entrepreneur is basically someone who has an idea and spots a niche in the market to make money, are usually innovative. What do you think? Smile

I would say no because not all singers have control of their brand. Some singers are being directed by their label. The head of their label would be considered an entrepreneur.

Singers are definitely entrepreneurs unless they simply perform in the shower each morning.

Just some of the things that they have to do that would put them in the entrepreneur category;
- market themselves to their target audience.
- market themselves to the various venues they are booked in.
- produce, order and sell their music via CDs or online music services.
- keep their online presence updated with their recent news, upcoming gigs, etc
- social media (Twitter, Facebook fan pages)
