1. There are different ways to color your artwork. Specifically, how do you color your artwork to making it look soft and smooth, and not edgy?? It looks like it has been blended and the color of her face reaches to her hair a little bit.
2. What effects does all the modes do? Additive, Lumo and Shade, etc.

Okay, what the artist did is start off with lineart (hard edges) without any colour. The artist then added a colour layer under the black lineart and did whatever. It's likely that they did a strong base, went over it with a soft brush and the smudged it with a harder brush. Then they made a clipping group above the lineart layer and coloured it in according to the colours around it. They probably went over the lines again after they finished the coloured-coloured lineart. They started flat out with colour and not black and white, there are a small ish range of values. Just try all the colour modes, it'll be fun experimenting. good luck!
