How to change your name? In real life? - kat - 03-24-2014 10:49 AM I'm not 18 yet, so do I have to wait? And what is the whole process? Please explain! My name is Kat Coburn and I really hate it! And how do you get a middle name? I don't have one but I want one! Thanks - Ben - 03-24-2014 10:57 AM Legally, the first step is to change your Facebook name. Then, contact a judge online, and speak to them about steps to change your name to match that of your Facebook profile. He/she will understand, and begin getting papers to change your name. You can have them faxed or shipped to you, and you can sign them and refax/reship them back to the judge. Within 2 weeks, your name will legally be changed to whatever you have on Facebook. - Maxi - 03-24-2014 11:07 AM Depends on where you live...UK it is 16 years and a simple deed poll change a few £ and it is done..... USA 18 yrs you have to make an application to the court and the court decides if you can legally change it or not ( normally you can) google 'name change and the town/county/state you live in ' will give you full information and costs - wendy c - 03-24-2014 11:08 AM In the US, a minor cannot change their name legally, however a parent can file in court for this, if they agree. The cost depends on where you live. If you are a minor, you also need consent of both parents. By the way.. no one contacts any "judge" online, and facebook is a entertainment site with no legal basis. |
